The General Surgery Department is a 30-bed unit that cares for patients with a variety of surgical needs. We care for the simple appendectomy patient all the way to the sometimes-complicated colon resection with colostomy placement. The benefit of working on the General Surgery unit is the diversity that is has offer. We care for patients in a variety of specialties including urology, nephrology, bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, and plastic surgery. In addition to the variety, we help develop basic nursing techniques and skills as we care for various drains, dressings, and catheters. Healthcare workers that are compassionate, flexible, and a team player will feel right at home on this unit as they learn and develop more confidence in their clinical knowledge base.
Proposed Schedule (12 Hr Shifts): Days (7:00a-7:30p) or Nights (7:00p-7:30a)
*Multiple Shifts Available (PRN, Part-Time and Full-Time)
*This is not an OR position - it is General Surgery, post op care on a Med Surg unit*

Qualifications:
- Required Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- License: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
