What you will do
As a Sr. Strategic Buyer in our organization, you will be responsible for leading the procurement strategies for Direct Materials suppliers, develop suppliers, execute savings projects, assure an adequate supplier assignation to each purchased item and support expediting processes with suppliers to assure that direct material is supplied in a proper time and that it will meet the delivery dates to minimize the risk of an inventory stock-out or revenue impact. You will also be part of the New Production Introduction project team and be responsible to partner with internal and external stakeholders in order to execute projects on time and on budget.
This position can be based in Milwaukee, WI, Federalsburg, MD, or Waynesboro, PA.
How you will do it
Manages assigned suppliers / commodities to ensure ongoing supply and appropriate pricing.
Ensure the cost, quality and time-oriented supply of all required goods, materials under compliance with the respective business plans, budgets and targets.
Ensure compliance to Global Procurement Policies.
Improve working capital through optimum payment terms.
Ensure costs are competitive with markets.
Monitor vendor performance and support materials department to assure proper feedback and corrective actions are in place to improve vendor development.
Assure that problems relating to delivery, pricing and invoicing are promptly conveyed to the vendor and resolved in a timely manner per standard procedures to avoid material shortages
Lead and coordinate savings projects.
Lead and coordinate procurement assignments on NPI Projects.
Set up new suppliers and manage the existing ones in Vendor Master.
Manage the Suppliers within the given programs (Request for Quotes RFQ, change management, contract negotiations, payment queries, dispute resolutions etc.)
Define and negotiate warranty terms and process with suppliers.
Review annual supplier performance.
Support to implement strategies and actions to reduce suppliers, in line with agreed targets.
Support implementation of Global Commodity strategies.
Implement strategies and actions to achieve FY (Fiscal Year) cost reduction goals, including PO-to-PO (Purchasing Order) reductions and rebates.
Support accurate and timely reporting of key measurable.
Support VA/VE projects.
Present new projects or sourcing strategies in the Sourcing Board.
Implementation and continuous improvement of standardization activities.
Support and implement diversity strategies.
What we look for
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related technical area.
Minimum 2 - 5 years’ experience in procurement or related discipline.
Strong negotiating skills.
Ability to gather, relate and summarize information into logical conclusions.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal customers and suppliers.
Solid project management skills to facilitate project/program compliance
Highly motivated individual capable of handling multiple responsibilities and working independently.
Demonstrated leadership, organization, planning, administration and team skills.
Requires advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use business systems software. Familiarity with SAP desired.
Previous experience managing fasteners and metal fabricated parts is desired.
MBA preferred
