DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY: Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures as requested by physicians. Provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist/Cardiologist
Requirements
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from accredited radiologic technology program.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: ARRT or Board eligible, New Mexico State licensure required. BLS certification required. For recent graduates, BLS certification required within six months of hire. ACLS obtained within the first year.
SKILLS:
- Thorough knowledge of associated radiographic equipment, neurologic and cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical terminology and basic computer skills
- Thorough knowledge of interventional procedures in Cardiology and Radiology preferred
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
EXPERIENCE: A graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program. One year radiologic experience preferred.

-Responsible to: Manager, Cath Lab
ENVIRONMENT:
- Bloodborne pathogen C
Exposure to various body fluids and ionizing radiation.
Works in a clean, well-lighted, ventilated smoke-free environment. Subject to stressful professional relationships. Working hours are varied, with flexibility due to unexpected changes in schedule and emergencies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients and equipment in excess of 50 lbs.
