Senior Accountant II
This position is part of the Global Financial Reporting team and is responsible for bank reconciliations for a variety of legal entities and currencies. Supervising or mentoring junior members of the team is also integral to this position. We need individuals to have a solid base in accounting, data analysis, reconciliation and systems management as well as experience in foreign exchange transactions. The Bank Reconciliation department needs people of integrity as well as a creativity to build new processes to achieve the most efficient business impacts.
What you’ll do:
Mentor junior members of the team, helping them with questions as well as reviewing their work on a monthly basis
Manage junior staff while building a sense of community and setting goals for growth
Prepare domestic and international bank reconciliations requiring knowledge and experience with foreign exchange transactions and issues
Prepare other cash related GL account reconciliations
Process daily exceptions in Oracle and bank websites for cleared activity
Work with other groups to coordinate the research of stale dated checks and unclaimed property processes including escheatment
Participate in month-end processes and prepare journal entries pertaining to cash activity
Prepare quarterly and annual audit schedules and engage with both internal and external auditors
Run the tools the team uses to track, reconcile and journalize the daily cash activity
Be involved with special projects including creating/improving processes, preparing analyses, and working with technical groups for Oracle implementations/improvements
Who you’re are:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
Minimum 5 years accounting experience
Minimum 2 years cash reconciliation experience in a global environment
Minimum 1 year mentoring or supervising experience and desire for future management responsibilities
Experience with Oracle, SAP or other large ERP system preferred, but not required
Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills including ability to act as primary owner of individual projects, analyses or processes
Meticulous, organized, efficient, and a self-starter, ability to work in a fast-paced constantly evolving environment
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and mathematical skills
Agreeable, positive, and enthusiastic attitude with capability to deal effectively with people both internal and external
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of basic programs including Outlook, Excel and Word
The total cash range for this position in Springfield is $61,500.00 to $86,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $98,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
