CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
(1) Product Stewardship Stakeholder support:
- Provides support to the Performance Coatings Group Industrial Wood business stakeholders including R&D, marketing, sales and customers.
- Provides strategic support to business(es) based on regulatory requirements and emerging legislation.
- Communicate regulatory and stewardship requirements to stakeholders during all stages of stage gate process.
- Understand where regulatory requirements vary by product type or region
- Work with other product stewards and regulatory affairs subject matter experts as needed in support of businesses and other stakeholders.
(2) Customer Support:
- Serve as the single point of contact to the assigned business(es) on legislative, regulatory and product safety/sustainability issues.
- Monitor, track and communicate issues which will impact S-W products or our customers
- Be an advocate for the representative business(es) on internal and external legislative, customer issues internally and externally.
(3) Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas of process improvement and communication in support of assigned business(es).
- Provide training, seminars for business team members or other groups within S-W on current trends in product stewardship.

FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in sciences such as chemistry, engineering, industrial hygiene, or similar
Preferred:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in sciences such as chemistry, engineering, industrial hygiene, or similar
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 3+ years’ experience in product stewardship or regulatory affairs
- Knowledgeable in managing regulatory and stewardship requirements for business(es)
Preferred:
- 6+ years’ experience in product stewardship or regulatory affairs
- Experience with global regulatory requirements
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Understands a variety of product applications and relationship to wide ranging regulations
- Experience in paint & coatings or chemical industry
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Business Specific Product stewardship expertise
- Experienced in interpretation of regulations
- Experience with presentations and projects
