Job Description
We are seeking an Elementary Substitute Teacher. This is a long term assignment covering a 2nd grade classroom during a leav. Employment dates are for the 2024-2025 school year, with core working hours of 8am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday.
This position will be a substitute teacher in our 2nd grade classroom September - December with the second half of the school year substituting in another elementary classroom, grade level TBD.

What You’ll Do
Provide high-quality instruction to students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher
Implement lesson plans left by the regular teacher and create engaging and effective lessons as needed
Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Assess student performance and provide feedback to help students achieve their academic goals
Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff about student progress and any concerns
Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities
Follow school policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive learning environment
What You’ll Need
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education
Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Elementary Education
Strong knowledge of elementary concepts and teaching methods
Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with educational technology and tools

Physical Demands:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Ability to stand, sit, and move around the classroom for extended periods.
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
