Job Purpose
The Honda Development and Manufacturing Production Engineering team is growing the operation technology systems and security team. The Vulnerability Management Analyst provides analysis, development, and implementation of security assessments of manufacturing systems and networks for machine control networks / industrial control systems (ICS) across various HDMA locations. The scope of this function covers manufacturing equipment hardware firmware/software identification, hardware firmware/software inventory maintenance, hardware firmware/software risk remediation and IT collaboration to secure and protect industrial control systems.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement application hardware software/firmware management program that maintains allowed versions of applications in the OT environment. Consult with equipment engineers, production floor and design, to evaluate interface between hardware and software.
- Validate and triage identified hardware, software/firmware vulnerabilities while tracking remediation efforts to their completion. Contribute to team strategy in managing threats and vulnerabilities and participate in rapid action efforts or other emergency response as needed.
- Perform risk analysis whenever an application or system undergoes a major change. Determine and document hardware firmware/software patches or the extend of releases that would leave firmware/software vulnerable. Identify security issues around steady state operation and management of software and incorporate security measures that must be taken when a product reaches its end of life.
- Work with cross-functional teams (AHM IT, RO & LO engineering) to enforce technical security standards by aiding in applying standards to projects
- Create and maintain appropriate documentation defining threat and vulnerability management program, policy and procedures
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical discipline (Engineering- Electrical, or Industrial, Computer Science) or equivalent related experience or Associate degree in a related technical field and six or more years’ experience PLC programing or related equipment controls.
- 5+ years of experience with machine control networks / industrial control systems (ICS); firm understanding of communication networks.
- Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity
- Strong verbal and written skills to communicate effectively both with customers and internal project teams
- Business acumen in a technical environment

- Estimate 2-4 Business trips per year may be required to support regional initiatives and improve overall efforts to improve standardization across the region. This activity may require short-term assignments at other Honda sites for 1-to-2-week periods.
- 5-15 hours of OT per week
- Weekend and holiday work may be required
