What you will do
The Continuous Improvement & Logistics Engineer is responsible for improving the productivity, quality, performance, and profitability of operations by applying engineering methods and analysis to a variety of business opportunities and problems. The Continuous Improvement & Logistics Engineer is expected to work as member of teams focused on projects in process analysis and improvement, warehouse layout efficiency improvement as well as effective storage strategies. The successful candidate will possess a record of academic focus and leadership experience combined with demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills.
How you will do it
Apply Industrial Engineering methods and skills to gather and analyze information to improve company and customer processes and results.
Identify and suggest business process improvement project opportunities.
Communicate and sell improvement ideas to key decision makers.
Obtain feedback on proposed improvement ideas.
Design process, system, and technology solutions to meet customer and company business needs.
Help implement and anchor business process and improvement projects.
Measure and report the results (costs and benefits) of implemented projects.
Experience of working as a Process and Solution Key User for warehouse related functions.
What we look for
Required
Bachelor’s degree Engineering & 3+ years of experience or equivalent experience
Experience with working in multiple Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and multiple brands of product within the same facility
Ability to work with all levels of employees in the Organization (Associates, Team Leads, Supervisors, Managers & Directors etc.) i
Proficient in Lean concepts such as One-Piece Flow (OPF), 5W2H, 5 WHYs, 5S, Poka Yoke, Spaghetti Diagram, Time, and Motion Studies, VSM, Flow Charts, OPL and Standardized Work and proven experience of implementing the above-mentioned techniques to improve productivity and efficiency of Operations is required.
Proven track record of successfully managing Change Management within the warehouse when implementing new processes is desired.
Experience in a fast paced and dynamic warehouse environment and proven record of ability to multitask and handle multiple projects while delivering desired results
Successful candidates will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite tools including Visio.
Experience with programming languages such as Java, Visual Basic and CAD is desired.
Travel Required (10%).
Preferred
Master’s degree is preferred.
Expertise in designing warehouse layout according to business needs and slotting the racks to different configurations to make complete use of space density
Experience of designing stocking algorithms to direct the SKUs to specific type of bin locations by using ABC frequency slotting is
