What you will do
As a Capital Planning & Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in the strategic oversight and management of the Lifecycle (‘LC’) element of various P3 facilities. This role ensures a balance between the operational risk of asset renewal and the opportunity to generate returns while maintaining a reserve for future requirements. Lifecycle management involves regular payments covering both Lifecycle Maintenance (non-annual maintenance elements) and the renewal and replacement of building assets. This is akin to capital planning, with Johnson Controls holding and managing the Lifecycle funds, retaining any unspent funds.
You will manage LC on a portfolio basis as a separate P&L, jointly administered by the sites and the LC team in accordance with Lifecycle Management protocols. In 2024, the consolidated LC plan includes $41.7M in revenue. As a subject matter expert, you will provide JCI O&M operational staff with advice and direction on lifecycle delivery and planning for individual or groups of sites, balancing risk mitigation and fund preservation. Responsibilities include fiscal planning, forecasting, and updating specialized Lifecycle Management tools.
How you will do it
Leadership & Expertise: Provide leadership to the LC team and serve as a central point of expertise for JCI operational sites.
Strategic Management: Set direction and ensure consistent management across the LC portfolio. Work with JCI operations and senior leadership on strategic management of the LC business.
Project Oversight: Ensure LC delivery and project funding approval align with JCI processes, balancing asset renewal to mitigate risk cost-effectively and timely, meeting fiscal expectations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain proactive relationships with sites to understand business needs, communicating these to JCI management.
Budget Management: Review and recommend funds release for LC projects, assisting with LC project budget development.
Performance Metrics: Establish and track process performance metrics, analyze and report lifecycle fiscal performance against agreed five-year plans, and take corrective action as needed.
Problem Resolution: Resolve problems and conflicts, maintain open communication with site teams on LC matters, and provide regular written and oral reports.
Technical Guidance: Offer technical expertise and guidance to O&M staff, manage complex LC issues, and direct LC activities utilizing all JCI resources.
Policy Compliance: Comply with company policies and procedures, adhere to company standards, and perform other duties as required.
