Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join their dynamic team at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center located in Jamaica, NY. This 424-bed, Level I Trauma & Stroke Center has been recognized as one of the leading hospitals in Queens New York, proudly serving their diverse community healthcare needs. This position will provide routine clinical nutrition care for high-acuity patients and cover critical care units and parenteral nutrition patients in CNSC’s absence.
Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the successful candidate will:
- Provide exceptional nutrition care to patients in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) and Surgical Step Down Unit (SSDU). Provide backup coverage for critical care units (SICU, MICU, CCU).
- be part of the eight inpatient RD team and work rotating weekends and holidays providing full hospital coverage;
- be knowledgeable of the Nutrition Care Process;
- be well versed in the Nutrition Focused Physical Exam and Malnutrition Identification; and
- efficiently and effectively organize clinical nutrition and patient care responsibilities.
Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:
- 2 years’ experience as a Registered Dietitian, critical care experience preferred;
- CNSC certification or willing to obtain;
- demonstrated success in a fast-paced work environment;
- excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups;
- strong verbal and written communication skills; and
- the ability to work with minimal oversight in collaboration with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement:
Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:
Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
Credentials Requirement:
Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision
