Location Description:
Michael Foods, Inc. located in Wakefield, Nebraska is known as the Baseball Capital of Nebraska. Milton G. Waldbaum and Dan Gardner founded our egg-processing business in 1950 here in Wakefield. Our location raises chickens and produces tankers of liquid egg to be consumed by our processing facilities.
Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Β Β Β
- Maintain and troubleshoot programmable logic controls and general wiring.
- Be able to read wiring schematics.
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Responsible for High Voltage System.
- Knowledge of industrial wiring.
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Responsible for all electrical system production and processing.
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPβs, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
- Travel to and work at multiple locations
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
One year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations.Β Ability to respond to questions from internal/external customers/vendors at all levels including management.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions, ratios. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
Licenses, certificates, and registrations required:
*Journeyman license or currently working towards it (not required but preferred)

- Prefer 1-2 years of electrical experience.
- Must be able to terminate control wiring.
- Must be able to trouble shoot low/high voltage control systems.
- Ability to work in a safe manner.
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to safely lift 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty and humid environments.
