Job Description
We are looking for a Dental Hygienist to perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planning on patients. This position will be full-time and onsite.
What You’ll Do
Use dental instruments and hygiene equipment, performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning
Instruct patients in preventive dental techniques
Assisting a high number of patients as required
Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers
What You'll Need
Required:
Must have a clear and current Florida Dental Hygiene license
Must have a current/active CPR certificate
Knowledge of dental terminology
Knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices
Skills using dental instruments and equipment and performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning
Ability to instruct patients in preventive dental techniques
Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers in a way that promotes teamwork and the betterment of the residents
Preferred:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred
Pediatric Experience is highly preferred
Experience using EagleSoft and HMS computer systems
Experience working in the Public Health System
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
