Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:
The Team Lead Technologist coordinates the work activities of the staff and helps the Senior Medical Technologists and Laboratory Manager ensure the adherence of established policies and procedures as well as the achievement of the goals and objectives of the department and AEL. Under the direct supervision of the assigned Pathology Manager, incumbents are subject to overtime and callback as required by AEL.
This is a full-time position.

In this role, you will:
- Performs clinical laboratory testing following established guidelines.
- Identifies and resolves technical problems routing unresolved issues to the Laboratory Manager or appropriate Senior Medical Technologist.
- Assures timely workflow and reporting during designated work times, competency of all direct reports in laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Maintains personal skill competencies and assures training and education needs are met to comply with licensing and accrediting standards and regulations.
- Provides accurate patient test results by following approved protocols and procedures to assist physician in patient evaluation and assessment.
- Assures timely release of work.
- Assures appropriate utilization of supplies to maintain cost effective an efficient operation.
- Participates in the laboratory's External Laboratory Proficiency Programs.
- Communicates effectively with clients, physicians an other department employees to exchange information, secure cooperation or coordinate activities to meet the goals of AEL.
- Evaluate processes and protocols for efficiency and accuracy making recommendations for improvement.
- Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
All you need, is:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and completion of AMA approved program of Medical Technology.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures as normally acquired through 4 years medical technology experience.
- Demonstrates ability to perform at high standards and ability to assume job responsibilities as normally acquired through 3-6 months orientation in the specific area.
- Tennessee Medical Technology license
- Certification by ASCP, or the equivalent
