Currently seeking a US-based Service Technician with a strong background in mechanical and electrical knowledge paired with troubleshooting skills who will join a Global Service Team located in Scheifling, Austria. The Service Technician will have industrial-related education with strong communication and customer service skills, capable of delivering and maintaining high customer satisfaction while building strong personal relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform comprehensive service tasks on our groundbreaking robotic assembly and welding systems installed in North America, i.e. robot calibrations, software updates, general troubleshooting, etc.
- Educate customers on the most efficient usage of the equipment by giving clear operational guidance
- Diagnose customer problems and identify immediate fixes in case of machine shutdowns
- Partner with clients to propose longer term improvements and liaise it with the Engineering team based in Austria
- Install aftermarket parts/products sold as upgrades or retrofits to existing clients
- Identify spare parts demand and leverage it through the back-office team
- Provide service reports with value propositions and recommendations for customers
- Build and maintain stable relationships with customers at both managerial and operator levels to shape the image of Zeman as a premium equipment and automation solution provider
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 75% of the year
- Perform general duties as assigned and assist in other areas as workload requires
REQUIRED SKILLS
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- 3+ years’ experience in installation/servicing of high value industrial machinery
- Strong software, electrical, and mechanical skillset; knowledge of robotic welding equipment
- Ability to work flexible hours around a changing schedule
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently without much supervision
- Commitment to travel 75% of the year throughout North America (US, Canada, Mexico)
- Good communication skills and strong service mindset when dealing with customers
- Fluent English--both written and verbal
- Current and valid US driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Technical Certifications in an engineering field, ideally in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent
- Fluent in Spanish, French, or any other language
WORK ENVIRONMENT
