Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate the organization's architectural vision, strategy, and principles to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology roadmaps.
- Lead the design and implementation of the overall architecture framework, including enterprise, solution, and technical architectures, to guide the development of systems, applications, and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with business leaders, product owners, and technology teams to understand and translate business needs and requirements into architectural solutions.
- Define and maintain architectural standards, best practices, and patterns, ensuring consistency, reusability, and scalability across projects and initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and promoting the use of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Conduct technology evaluations and assessments to identify opportunities for innovation, improvement, and the adoption of new technologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain an architecture roadmap, prioritizing initiatives and investments to achieve business objectives and strategic goals.
- Evaluate and mitigate architectural risks and challenges, making recommendations for risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Participate in the selection and evaluation of technology vendors and solution providers, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and business requirements.
- Mentor and coach architects and other technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and technical excellence.
Position Requirements:
- An active Secret Security Clearance is required.
- Bachelor’s degree: additional experience would be considered in lieu of degree.
- At least 15 years of experience in the related field.
- Must be able to report to the on-site location in Annapolis Junction, MD as needed.
- Strong knowledge of architectural frameworks, methodologies, and best practices, such as TOGAF, Zachman, and Microservices architecture.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices, fostering a culture of collaboration, agility, and continuous delivery.
- Proven experience as a Chief Architect or in a similar senior-level architectural role, with a track record of designing and implementing enterprise-level architectures.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
