About the role:
You will work directly with engineering staff to produce 3D models and 2D layout drawings of the aerospace sub-systems & engine controls products to meet both engineering and customer requirements. You will be responsible for creating solid models and detailed drawings of various components and assemblies, performing tolerance studies, and making sure that the models and drawings accurately define a manufacturable product.
Experience with industry specifications and in-depth knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is used to ensure all drawings are complete (accurate, fully dimensioned and in alignment with Tolerance Studies).
Candidate must have a strong understanding of mechanical principles and demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting models, assemblies, and piece part drawings. An in-depth comprehension of GD&T practices, along with the tolerance analysis of assemblies and piece parts is required.
Requirements:
- A degree in STEM with 8+ years relevant experience.
- Advanced user of Siemens NX/Teamcenter environments
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and design intent notes
- Deep understanding of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
- Experience with model based definition (MBD) practices including creating 3D drawings
- Familiarity with aerospace industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and documentation.
- Proven capacity to meet deadlines, thrive under time constraints, maintain composure, and adeptly juggle multiple tasks with outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, engaging with employees and managers at all levels.

- Work with engineering for initial 2D concept of product
- Create 3D product models, outlines, and layouts
- Create solid models piece parts, housings, and assemblies in NX, and manage Bill of Materials
- Create part definition using MBD model based definition practices for high complexity piece parts
- Apply tolerance stack-up analysis results to ensure correct fit and alignment, and performance of complex assemblies
- Lead detailing drafters in the completion of component drawings for a design project
- Check drawings for accuracy, correct GD&T, and compliance to the aerospace industry and customer drafting and manufacturing standards
- Support product design reviews and coordinate work with project, engineering, and manufacturing teams
- Ensure proper filing, control, and export classification of created design data
- Able to work effectively in a team environment, comprehend and implement oral and written inputs and coordinate with project group on each program you support
