DescriptionAre you an experienced engineer who would like to be a major contributor to the design of future networked sensor systems capabilities? Would you like the opportunity to design and integrate multi-sensor data fusion and target tracking technologies into a complex system of systems? If so, we believe this may be the opportunity for you and would like you to apply.
We are committed to inventing the next generation of solutions to complex warfare challenges. As a member of our team, you will contribute to the development of integrated air and missile defense capabilities that will synthesize dissimilar information in challenging environments, ranging from single sensor signal level processing to force level combat identification in support of integrated fire control. We want you to help us reach our goal in identifying emerging information fusion and data distribution needs and develop groundbreaking solutions for force-level systems in distributed warfare theatres.
As a Sensor Systems Integration Engineer...
- Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop novel concepts and architectures for integrating new types of active and passive sensors, weapons, and multi-mission data fusion capabilities into future combat systems and military platforms.
- You will define element level interface requirements, message exchanges between systems, message data content, and performance required to achieve a desired effect.
- You will understand and assess multi-faceted sensor (individual and netted) performance metrics as related to the needs of the combat and weapon systems across multiple mission areas.
- You will learn about communications mechanisms that support sensor data exchanges over throughput-limited and shared network infrastructures with complex topologies and use your knowledge to evaluate performance and recommend enhancements.
- You will understand and analyze various aspects of combat and weapon system functionality as related to integration with networks providing integrated fires capabilities.
- You will analyze networked sensor systems interfaces and recorded test data in live and simulated environments to ensure proper functionality and performance.
QualificationsYou meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Possess a BS degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Have 10+ years of experience in systems engineering and integration work.
- Have experience solving complex system of systems problems.
- Have proficient analytical and leadership skills.
- Have a theoretical background or experience in some of the following: probability theory, statistical or adaptive signal processing, detection and estimation theory, information theory, data fusion, optimization theory, or a related discipline.
- Have adept personal and professional communications skills and are comfortable working with staff, management, and sponsors at all levels.
- Are able to perform effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Are willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time to remote sites and are comfortable working in closed areas.
- Are able to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...
- Possess a MS degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Have an active Top Secret security clearance.
- Have experience with distributed warfare systems.
- Have experience with sensor and combat systems integration.
- Have proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages for algorithm development or data analysis.
- Have experience and background in some or all of the following:
- Systems architecture, requirements, and interface development and analysis
- Active and passive sensors
- Target tracking and sensor fusion algorithms and concepts
- Target management concepts
- Integrated Fire Control concepts
