A Registered Nurse (RN) in the Endoscopy Department at Weston Hospital provides direct care to pre- and post-procedure patients in a fast-paced environment, following established standards, department guidelines and hospital policies and procedures. The RN will use their strong assessment and critical thinking skills to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team in order to provide the best outcomes for each patient. This role plays an integral part in ensuring patient advocacy, safety and education. A minimum of one year experience as an RN in an acute care setting or surgical services is required.
The hours of this per diem position are 12-hour shifts, 6am - 6:30pm. A minimum of 48 hours per six-week schedule is required. One shift per week is preferred. No call or weekend requirements.
Required qualifications for the ideal candidate include:
- A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR OF RN EXPERIENCE IN AN ENDOSCOPY DEPARTMENT IS REQUIRED.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
- Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).
- Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- Provides care with empathy and compassion.

Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
