Weld Systems Process Engineer Supervisor
Job Summary:
Candidate will work out of Fori’s Shelby Twp. Michigan facility and will report to the Business Unit Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidate must demonstrate the following to be considered:
- Management and Supervision of process department staff and all process validation tasks related to Weld Systems and all related secondary equipment.
- Schedule manpower requirements in accordance with schedule provided by Project Management.
- Monitor and maintain processing tasks relative to the master schedule.
- Provide weekly status report updates to the Weld Systems Engineering Manager.
- Cultivate and manage outside and in house SIMs sources.
- Create specification packages for outsourced SIMs.
- Keeps up to date on state-of-the-art technologies.
- Create standards and tools for department.
- Validate, create, modify, and improve process times.
- Provides technical assistance to Proposal and Estimating Department.
- Provides input on departmental staffing based on established guidelines.
- Provides training and assistance to new employees.
- Conducts process reviews - internal and external.
- Product and GD&T control (including station assemblies).
- Analyze and validate machine ergonomics.
- Create safety calculations and documentation.
- Develop and maintain formal cycle time charts.
- Develop and maintain process documents.
- Manage robot list.
- Supervise, create system layouts and safety fencing layouts.
- Manage engineering change requests and line up estimating.
- Operators walk paths and Kan-ban development (2d Auto-Cad based off system layout).
- Follow up on floor (robot reach, interference, cycle time issues).
Education and Experience:
- Ability to supervise mechanical design engineers and outside design sources.
- A background in mechanical design – familiarity with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
- Knowledge of spot and mig welding systems
- Familiarity with NAAMS components
- Working knowledge of GD&T required
- Minimum 10 to 15 years’ experience.
- Possible 10% travel requirement
- US Passport and travel capability to Canada
- Autodesk Vault experience is a plus

- Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is required to sit for long periods of time.
- Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
