Pay: $33.85 - $50.30 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
Requirements:- Graduate of nursing program: Diploma, ADN, BSN, or MSN .
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) Certification from the American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification (ABPANC) within 18 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
- ACLS and PALS certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Preferred: 1 year of nursing experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provides direct patient care according to nursing and medical plan of care and within scope of practice, using population-specific guidelines. Delivers care for patients in all surgical specialties, anesthetic types, wound management, and medication administration. Involves patient and family/significant others in plan of care.
- Responds to complications related to surgery and anesthesia.
- Collaborates with all members of the healthcare team to provide teaching related to anesthesia, such as complications and after-care.
- Adheres to established protocols related to patient care, patient safety goals, and medication administration. Documents care provided per established guidelines. Identifies opportunities for practice changes based on evidence-based nursing literature and research. Floats to other clinical areas in HSC as needed.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
