SUMMARY: Define, develop, and oversee the implementation of new manufacturing processes primarily for connectors and cable assemblies or improvements to existing manufacturing processes, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality while ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Create, lead, and drive continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure Total Effective Mfg. Cell readiness for new product / new process introductions (PFMEA; FLOW; STANDARD; ROUTING; SAFETY, etc.)
- Create and Communicate project updates / progress to leadership in a clear concise manner to show measurable improvements.
- Effective DMAIC Process
- Effective A3 Problem Solving – Closed Loop (Is / Is Not; 5Why; Fishbone; DOE; PFMEA)
- Define / Lead / Complete Kaizen events based on analysis of cell KPIs.
- Ensure sustainability of Improved Process through continued evaluation / reporting
- Communication / Collaboration with cell operators; engineering team; management on project needs; status; implementation
- Develop / Write Effective Electronic and Manual Work Instructions
- Design; Develop; Implement; Improve new and existing Mfg. processes and procedures.
- Design; Develop and Maintain CAPEX Plan for current and future needs of Mfg. Processes
- Effective Lean Mfg. – VSM; Setup reduction; Flow Improvement; Waste Elimination
- Effectively Implement and validate new equipment / new processes (develop equipment and process validation plans)
- Continually identify; troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Provide technical guidance and support.
- Analyze Production trends to develop improvement plans.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESRequires the knowledge typically acquired through:
Completion of a four year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
Three plus years related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical writing
Presentation skills, with the ability to tailor the message to the audience
Lean Methodologies
Six Sigma and related technical problem solving tools
Digital Factory connectivity
Ability to write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format and effectively present information to top management.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
