INVO is in need of an Occupational Therapist to provide services in non public schools in Camden County NJ. The ideal candidate will provide specialized therapy services to help students develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and academic success. This role requires a professional who is passionate about working with children and adolescents, particularly those with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' motor, sensory, and perceptual skills, and their impact on academic performance and daily activities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments and in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other specialists.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, focusing on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and self-regulation.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with school staff to integrate therapeutic activities into the classroom environment.
- Provide consultation and training to teachers and parents on strategies to support students’ occupational therapy needs.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and accommodations.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of services provided, in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Adhere to ethical standards and best practices in occupational therapy.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid New Jersey Occupational Therapist license.
- NJ Department of Education Certification
- Experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development, particularly in the areas of motor skills and sensory processing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in various school environments.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
