Technical Skills Trainer A&P in GAC Van Nuys
Unique Skills:
Based in Van Nuys but there will be a small percentage of travel to Long Beach required
First shift role, Second shift flexibility required
The compensation range for this role is: $39.38 to $43.53 per hour
Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to; minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience and location.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 5 years related maintenance experience and technical training. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.
Position Purpose:The RS Technical Skills Trainer is responsible for providing skills training through on the job training as needed and directed. Assists mechanics and technicians in the development of logical and progressive competency based technical training. This role assists in the training and development of company technical employees to include basic avionics and system familiarization.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
- Delivers classroom and practical aircraft technical training to employees at all locations as directed by management. Looking at your SR functions shouldn’t this be: Establish oneself as the technical expert and floor level contact for technicians in training.
Ensure aircraft safety standards are complied with, promote and mandate the practical understanding of working to a high level of safety and quality.
Assists in forming training plans and establishing goals in support of organizational business objectives.
Provide support to the local facility. .
Ensure proper documentation is maintained in accordance with facility OJT program and repair station training manual guidelines are adhered to and followed.
Work to instill the values of personal accountability and integrity in the individual you are assisting/training.
Provide direction to ensure complete understanding and pitfalls of high risk tasks.
Provide remedial training, pass on aircraft systems knowledge and teach troubleshooting techniques to lesser experienced technicians.
Should be aware of and engaged in and utilize repair station trends (SMS, Top 3, First Pass Yield) to identify priorities.
Additional Functions:
- Must be able to read and interpret maintenance manuals, IPCs, ASCs, CBs, CMP cards, engineering orders and blueprints. .
Must be able to troubleshoot systems during tests and perform systems and operational checks. .
Must be available to conduct training on any shift and travel to all locations. .
Must possess facilitation and presentation capabilities. .
Good organizational skills and strong verbal/written communications skills required. .
Perform other duties as assigned.
