Overview
The Application Solution Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions in both cloud and on premises environments across various areas of the business that will address complex challenges. Working closely with cross-functional teams and project stakeholders, the architect will ensure that the application architecture aligns with USAP’s business goals and enterprise technical standards. This role requires extensive knowledge and understanding of platform architecture, software development, well architected frameworks, and the ability to solve complex technical challenges.
Job Highlights
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
- Design and document application architecture that adheres to the principles of a well architect framework.
- Collaborate with key business stakeholders on application and platform vision translating that into technical solutions.
- Create and maintain application architecture documentation including diagrams and runbooks.
- Participate in full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Conduct application architectural and code reviews to ensure USAP governance and standards are being followed.
- Provide application development guidance to DevOp teams as well as act as the subject matter expert on application development.
- Work directly with the Enterprise Architect to ensure that overall Enterprise architecture governance and guidance is being executed on at the application development level.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness on technology trends and advancements helping ensure that USAP application development stays competitive and secure.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- The ability to understand and translate business needs aligning them to proper technical application solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work with multiple teams at the same time.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work on multiple business critical projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of core security and compliance principles in a healthcare environment.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or related field, required or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of application development experience in an Azure environment working across Platform as a Service, Software as a Service, Infrastructure as Code and other associated microservices.
- 5+ years of experience developing applications in C# and JavaScript language sets using industry standard application framework best practices.
- 5+ years of experience with SQL Server, at least three years of experience with SQL Azure and one year of experience with Cosmo DB preferred.
- 5+ years of experience using scripting languages such as Powershell, Python and Perl.
- 3+ years of experience using current versions of Entity and MVC frameworks.
- Solid knowledge and experience working with Azure Dev Ops technology with focus on CI/CD pipelines and GIT repositories.
- Solid knowledge of Agile Methodology and 2+ years of working in a Scrum team setting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching
- Must possess sufficient eye-hand coordination/manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment
- Required normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports and evaluations.
- Requires lifting papers and boxes weighing up to 35 pounds occasionally
- Requires dexterity to type at least 35 wpm.
