What your 10 hour shift in this role might involve at OC-Minneapolis:
The purpose of the Production Operator is to support the continuous operation of the Minneapolis facility. This position is responsible for carrying out operation-related tasks as it relates to the successful production of Owens Corning roofing shingles.
Here is a brief outline of this role…
• Remove finished product from the shuttle into the staging area
• Visually inspect pallets and wrapped bundles
• Hand seal packages in the event of open ends
• Manually palletize bundles and/or load onto palletizer machine
• Assit in restacking pallets removing second material
• Restock pallets at the palletizer
• Maintaining a safe workplace
What makes a successful OC—Minneapolis team member:
Must haves include…
• High school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere with minimal direct supervision.
Would be terrific if you also had…
• Experience in manufacturing, but not required.
• Motivation to learn and advance as an Owens Corning employee.
There are some essential physical requirements specific to our work environment, including being able to:
• Stand for 10 - 12 hours straight
• Climb and descend stairs/ladder as needed for the role
• Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 40-pounds)
• Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
• Handle, control and feel raw materials and finished goods
• Able to execute repetitive movements
