Forklift Operator/Material Handler ... Pay Range $19.00-$22.00
$1,000.00 Hiring Bonus! $500 After the first 6-Months and $500 after 1 year
Our Forklift Operator – Material Handler operates powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities, with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. This position involves driving around warehouses, storage spaces and other facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them in assigned places.
• Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates and condition them for storage or shipment.
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Transport raw materials to production workstations.
• Inspect forklift equipment to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities.
• Report to management on activities and issues.
• Other duties and responsibilities as requested and needed.
Requirements and Skills:
• Proven experience as a forklift operator.
• Forklift operation certification.
• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
• Excellent physical condition and coordination.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to maintain a regular and reliable attendance record.
• Ability to work well and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
• Company and job-specific training will be provided as needed throughout employment.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• This is a safety-sensitive position, as defined in section 181.950, subdivision 13, subject to drug and alcohol testing provisions in sections 181.950 to 181.957.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
Physical Demands:
• Frequent getting on and off equipment.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
• Manufacturing/distribution facility environment.
• Exposure to plant and warehouse environment including heat, humidity, dust fumes, gases, toxic/caustic chemicals, airborne particles, and loud noise.
• Exposure to moving equipment throughout the factory or warehouse.
• Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety goggles, safety gloves.
