Position: Sleep Intake Specialist (Customer Service-Respiratory and Sleep)
General Description:
As a Quipt Home Medical Sleep Intake Specialist, you will be responsible for the quality, timeliness and service levels related to the patients journey of starting CPAP Therapy. You will be responsible for qualifying new and existing patients for CPAP/BiPAP machines based on insurance requirements. This will include but is not limited to creating patient charts, communicating with patients and doctors to get correct documentation, verifying insurance benefits and eligibility, discussing financial responsibility with patients, and scheduling appointments for our Respiratory Therapists. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious self-starter with strong communication skills, a positive attitude and who possesses a passion for customer service.
Job Responsibilities and duties include:
• Patient Intake/Data Entry
• Communicating with patients, referral sources, and Sales Representatives on the status of orders
• Building relationships with referral sources
• Requesting documentation from doctors’ offices/referral sources
• Insurance Verification
• Explaining patients’ financial responsibility
• Collecting credit cards
• Scheduling patients with our Respiratory Therapists and Setup Technicians
• Making outbound and answering inbound phone calls from patients regarding the status of their order and scheduling appointments
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Position Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a Clerical or Customer Service environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) etc.
• Proficient general office skills (typing, computer, fax, filing, multiple phone line)
• Neat personal appearance with pleasing manner and interpersonal skills · Strong communication skills with capacity to make independent decisions · Medicare/Medicaid and insurance billing, bookkeeping or medical office experience preferred
Continuing Education
As designated by management to include company in services and off-site training programs as appropriate to industry and position.
