• At the start of your shift, make sure there are enough packaging materials in your work area. Work with the forklift driver to ensure you have pallets, slip sheets, layer pads, pallet caps or any other applicable materials needed for the product being palletized.
• Before starting any production, wait for the verification from the QA specialist that the packaging materials are correct. Without ... the QA specialist confirmation, or in its absence that from the Manager, you are not allowed to start packing any bags into cases.
• Check with the Quality Specialist the Julian Date for the production day.
• Periodically check the accessible bags for the code date, make sure it is visible, complete, legible and in the right spot.
• Periodically check the accessible bags for leaks by squeezing them and checking the seals and the corners for any potential leaks. Discard any leaking bags into the reject bin for rework.
• If you identify any discrepancy compared to the specifications, set the bag in the reject bin for rework. If the incident is not isolated, notify the Packer, the Operator and the Quality Specialist immediately so the machine can be stopped, the cause for the problem identified and corrected, before continuing production.
• Palletize the product following the specifications. Use only sound pallets and clean packaging materials. Follow the pallet pattern from the specifications.
• Ensure the correct number of cases is stacked in each level and all the levels are complete. Organize the boxes to make sure the pallet will be stable.
• Stay in permanent communication with the packer and the operator, to report any issues timely.
• Maintain the area clean throughout the day. Pick up any sugar spills promptly. During roll changes or at any downtime, take care of the regular sanitation activities from your area.
• At the end of the shift, clean the area and leave it ready for the next shift, sweep and clean all the area, work with the Forklift Driver to ensure that all the activities outlined in the Daily Cleaning Schedule for Operations, SQF-11-2S02, have been carried out and make sure the area is clean and all the trash has been removed from the facility
