Job Description: As a Pharmacy Courier you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of medications ... and pharmaceutical supplies within the hospital. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and safety of these deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of pharmacy products for example but not limited to medications and pharmacy supplies throughout the campus
• Appropriately sort and deliver medications based on priority and needs of the department
• Perform STAT and frequent medication deliveries as needed
• Utilize appropriate PPE and precautions when required during the transportation of hazardous medications
• Assist in the transport and movement of pharmacy medications and supplies throughout the pharmacy and its satellites
• Ensure the integrity of medications and supplies are maintained during delivery
• Utilize guidance to be able to independently distinguish the appropriate method of delivery for medications
• Assist in the processing of medication returns in a timely and appropriate fashion when directed by the Pharmacy Operations Manager or equivalent
• Accurately log all delivery transactions in the appropriate log
• Communicate deliveries to stakeholders and provide delivery updates as requested
• When required, coordinate more complicated medication deliveries to meet the needs of patients
• Provide real time delivery updates by using hospital provided communication device(s)
• Maintain a clean work environment, for example but not limited to, cleaning devices/containers used in the transportation of medication and supplies
Qualifications:
• Current State of CT Pharmacy technician license issued by the Department of Consumer Protection is required.
• Minimum experience (preferred): 6 months in retail or hospital pharmacy
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system; Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and pharmacy information system
• Pharmacy Automation in an institutional setting
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
Details:
• Pay: $19 - $21/hr. based on related experience
• Pay cycle – weekly | medical, dental & vision benefits offered.
• Schedule: Monday – Friday | 1pm – 9:30pm.
• Some weekends will be needed along with Holidays.
• Applicants must be vaccinated for CV-19 to qualify for this opening.
