Overview
The Warehouse Associate will perform a variety of routine shipping, receiving, production and housekeeping tasks. Shipping tasks include picking, packaging and shipment of orders. Receiving tasks include loading and unloading truck shipments and stocking the warehouse shelves. Production tasks include material handling, forklift operation, labeling and packaging of product. Associate is ... required to complete these tasks in accordance to company SOP’s.
Responsibilities
• Operations
• Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements
• Check inventory to verify availability of needed stock
• Notify the Supervisor of shortages
• Maintain product stock in work area
• Stock shelves in the warehouse
• Receive and unload incoming material and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment
• Sort, count, package, label, and unpack inventory that is received
• Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects, and notify the Supervisor of findings
• Responsible for accurately receiving, reporting, and distributing purchased items
• Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment
• Assist in snow removal of company grounds.
• Safety and Housekeeping
• Clean and maintain isle with no tripping hazards
• Keep all emergency exits clear
• Inspect shelves for fall hazards and resolve
• Report any deficiencies to supervisors
• Sweep and maintain floors daily
• Clean and organize loading docks daily
• Inspect ladders, forklift and pallet jacks weekly
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED
• Effective communication/comprehension skills - verbal and written
• Math Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
• Basic computer skills
• Physical Requirements – ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach, climb ladders, lift materials up to 80 lbs., and move materials up to 600 lbs using a pallet jack
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
