Position Title: Pharmacy Delivery Driver

Status/Hours per week: Non-Exempt / 35-40 hours per week
Primary Function
Provide safe and accurate medications deliveries to the patients of the Pharmacy.
To perform this job effectively, a person must demonstrate competence in the performance of the following responsibilities. Such competence shall be assessed throughout the trial period and at regular intervals thereafter.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Safe operation of own vehicle while wearing a safety belt.
• Accurate and timely medications deliveries to patients.
• Verify patient’s identity by asking opened ended questions, such as what is your name, what is your date of birth, what is your phone number?
• Inquire on patient’s identifier/picture ID in order to verify patient’s identity, if necessary.
• Correct patient’s demographics based on verification.
• Collect patient’s signatures and IDs, as required by law.
• Keep medications secure medications at all times while in possession of them.
• Responsible for immediately reporting any incidents or errors.
• Responsible for accurately maintaining appropriate logs (mileage, prescription signature, delivery, etc.) and following the appropriate procedures and policies pertaining to each.
• Wear and maintain appropriate uniforms and properly display the UCC identification tag.
• Participate in the development and implementation of schedules, routes, and delivery plans.
• Communicate to Pharmacy staff and Pharmacy Director all concerns and problems encountered during delivery.
• Perform duties consistently in a safe and timely manner.
• Treat all UCC patients and co-workers in a respectful, sensitive and courteous manner.
• Participate in job related training.
• Attend meetings as requested or required.
• Performance of other related duties as required.
Qualifications
• Must be able to pay attention to details, work independently, and plan ahead.
• Experience with driving in different weather conditions
• Interest and sensitivity to the patients’ needs / good customer service.
• Bilingual Cape Verdean Creole and Spanish speaker highly preferred.
• Must possess own reliable vehicle.
Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid current Massachusetts driver’s license.
• Safe driving record for the past 3 years.
Independent Action
Driving independently and following processes, procedures, and protocols as listed by job description and/or supervisor.
