Medstar Health’s National Rehabilitation Network offices are looking for new Office Assistants. With openings amongst the Baltimore-Washington, DC area, we are eager to find someone with administrative experience who can contribute to the overall daily functions of our therapy clinics and embodies customer service.
Primary Duties:

Greeting patients while obtaining and verifying both demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate keeping of patient chart and medical records for treatment purposes and HIPAA compliance.

Schedule new and follow up appointments as it relates to specific treatment plans as dictated by the therapist or clinic director.

Oversee patient and insurance payments including collect copayments, enter charges for procedures preformed, and reconciling daily cash collection at the end of each shift. Obtain authorizations and/or precertification for services and therapies to ensure services rendered are approved by insurance companies, recertifying and submitting additional documentation as needed.

Administrative duties such as answering phones, corresponding with patients, typing, faxing, scanning records, ordering supplies to ensure smooth operation of office on a daily basis, assisting patients as needed. Ensures customer satisfaction by helping to resolve conflict and patient issues that arise.

Act as a case manager to ensure all medical and financial paperwork is completed and obtained by patients as well as uploaded into Electronic Health Record (EHR). Manages and reconciles daily/weekly reports for patient financial, medical and treatment information.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in Healthcare related field preferred
· 3-4 years experience as administrator in Medical Office setting; or 1-2 years experience within Medstar National Rehabilitation Network setting
· Customer service experience as well as strong written and verbal skills
· Microsoft proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook)
