As-Needed Event Banquet Server (Part-time Contingent I)
Staff position (12230 | 6179 ... The Dining Services Department at Salisbury University is accepting applications for As-Needed Event Banquet Server (Part-Time Contingent I) positions in Dining Services for current and future openings.
Primary Job Duties: Provide assistance in the set- up, execution and breakdown of various catered events; providing timely service while fulfilling catering requests and maintaining facilities in a high quality fashion; may on occasions serve alcohol; maintain safe and sanitary conditions; provide different levels of service, constantly demonstrate excellent customer service skills to all customers and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to attain ServSafe Safe Food Handlers Certificate no later than the end of the first contract period and TIPS Certification required no later than the second contract period. Must be able to communicate effectively including reading, writing and verbally; follow instructions; and lift, transport and stock food and food service supplies, material and equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be able to work outside as required. Must be well organized, flexible, and a strong team player with the ability to multi-task, adapt to change and provide excellent customer service with or without detailed instructions.
Preferred Qualifications: Restaurant or banquet service experience and High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
These are part-time (19 hour) non-exempt contingent positions with no benefits. The starting pay is up to $15.75 per hour. Catering events occur year-round; work schedules will vary based upon the needs of the University and may include daytime, evening and weekend hours.
