Description:
Wright Manufacturing, Inc. (WMI), an award winning producer of commercial grade lawn equipment, is looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our Internal Logistics Team ... This is a full-time, non-exempt position, earning overtime at time and one half for hours worked over 40 hours per week. Schedule is typically Monday through Friday 7:00am-4:00pm. Occasional work on Saturdays may be needed as work flows dictate.
• Opportunity for overtime is available but not guaranteed
Primary Duties include:
· Operate LP sit-down forklift to assist in Receiving and Inventory Control functions
· Unload FTL and LTL orders safely and efficiently
· Maintain a clean and organized Dock, working with stand up forklift operator to prioritize tasks and optimize space
· Transfer product from UPS/FedEx Ground from Dock and scan/stock them into the home locations
· Respond to radio calls from Group Leaders and Team Leaders to perform forklift duties as requested
· Ensure proper FIFO inventory processes are followed always
· Daily inspection and maintenance of Clark forklift
· Waste stream management- transport all cardboard, empty pallets, engine racks, etc. to proper locations and process accordingly (baling, transporting product outside, etc)
· Assist Receiving Clerk during verification/receiving processes
· Crosstrain to learn various material handling processes related to the assembly line
· Assist in 5S Methodology (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
· Assist with special projects and rework as necessary
· Contribute to and participate in Kaizen projects to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and CostRequirements:
Qualified candidates for the role of Forklift Operator should be able to demonstrate:
· Extensive sit down forklift experience required, pertaining to working on a fast paced dock
· Stand up forklift experience a plus
· Strong attention to detail
· Consistent work history
· Ability to work in an environment that is not climate controlled
· Ability to work in a moderate to high noise level environment
· Excellent attendance record
· Ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance
· Positive, team player attitude
· Strong, independent work ethic
· Good organizational skills
