About the position:
Root Shoot Malting is seeking a self-motivated and hard-working part-time Packaging Technician to join our team. This position reports to our Malthouse Manager and will work directly with our packaging team to ensure malt and raw grain orders are fulfilled and production requirements are met.

Responsibilities:
Ability to package 2000 lb. super sacks and 50 lb. bags.
Build and organize pallets of raw materials and finished goods.
Ensure the packaging area is kept clean and organized and maintain quality control throughout the packaging process.
Accurately label and record inventory.
Assist in malthouse operations and be fully trained on all malting processes and equipment.
Safely and efficiently operate, maintain and clean packaging equipment
Follow Standard Operating Procedures and maintenance schedule for grain handling, packaging and malt cleaning equipment and comply with all company policies and procedures.
Attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other team members to maintain an efficient packaging area.
Flexibility, good communication skills, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Requirements:
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, lift 50 pounds, and safely work in a general manufacturing environment with exposure to varied temperatures and loud noises.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to operate a forklift, training provided.
Must follow company PPE requirements including closed toe shoes and eye/ear protection
Knowledge of the craft malting and craft brewing/ distilling processes preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and basic problem solving skills preferred.
Compensation:
$17-$20 hourly compensation
