The Pharmacy Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all daily incoming and outgoing shipping activities and logistics functions, ensuring cost effectiveness and timely management of delivery personnel by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ... • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Management experience strongly preferred
• Valid Driver's license
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Basic level skill in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness and condition of shipments
• Organize all shipments in line with company and regulatory requirements
• Ensure correct shipment of all orders, including hazardous, refrigerated and/or time sensitive materials
• Organize delivery driver's routes and schedules to ensure consistent delivery times
• Prepare mailing labels and appropriate packaging of medications
• Follow up with patient regarding recent deliveries
• Manage shipping supplies and equipment, including reorder of necessary items
• Provide information or knowledge on medication delivery to other teams
• Collaborate with other managers to coordinate Monthly Cycle Fill Deliveries, inventory management and quality assurance.
• Maintain packing lists and shipping manifests in an organized and retrievable manner
• Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
• Maintains or verifies records of time, materials, expenditures, and crew activities using monitoring software
• Working closely with Purchasing:
• Continual review of shipping dates and reporting exceptions
• To review the value offered by existing suppliers, ensuring purchasing remains competitive
• Assisting with the re-negotiating of business/service level agreements and performance evaluation and taking corrective action as required
• Enforces safety rules and regulations
• Assess incidents, complaints, etc. (eg safety issues, transportation routes, department staffing, etc.) for the purpose of resolving or recommending a resolution to the situation.
• Document and follow up regarding grievances involving shipping and delivery errors to ensure patient/customer satisfaction and appropriate resolution.
• Oversees vehicle preventative maintenance programs and activities for the purpose of ensuring vehicles are maintained in a safe and effective operating condition.
• Research new equipment/vehicles, laws, regulations, etc. for the purpose of recommending purchases, contracts, and proper maintenance of services.

• Identify employees' skills and develop them by coaching, counseling and motivating employees on a regular basis
• Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance
• Recommend new hires, promotions, termination and transfers for the purpose of maintaining staffing needs and productivity of the work force
• Design and oversee new employee training
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow by leading scheduled workflow meetings
• Maintain schedule for all delivery drivers, including PTO approval, vacation coverage, and coverage for unscheduled driver call-outs.
