Under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager the Picker/Packer will be responsible for alternating between picking, packing, and loading/unloading containers as deemed necessary by warehouse manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES ... • Picking involves obtaining items from storage shelves according to orders placed by customers.
• Packing involves packaging those items in boxes for shipment to customer.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Use computer to enter records.
• Open bales, crates, and other containers.
• Stand for the duration of the 8-hour shift, with the exception of lunch break.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Convey materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, or other stock items and distribute items to production areas (Picking).
• Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, slip sheets, or floor loading of trailers.
• Mark materials with identifying information.
• Weigh or count items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Requires bending, walking, stooping, reaching, kneeling, twisting, grasping, pushing and pulling.
• Lift up to 60 lbs. Boxes and packages range in size depending on the combination of products ordered by the customer.
• Drives material handling equipment to transport stored items within the warehouse.
• May prepare parcels for mailing.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends when necessary.
• Must be flexible in performing tasks considered outside of job function.
• Neat appearance and good grooming.
• Adhere to dress code.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Related experience and/or training is favorable but not required.
• Must be able to speak and read English.
