GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Laundry Attendant position is primarily responsible to maintain the continuous operation of the Laundry Department Washer and Dryer machinery. The secondary responsibility is to assist other Team Members, whom are assigned to Feed / Fold duties, with those duties. Safety is a consideration at all times. Protect yourself and your Team - watch out for each other.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Check the sorting area of the Laundry Department for soiled linens, which have been deposited into the chute and arrived onto the sort table.
• Sort all soiled items (also checking for foreign objects and removing them) received into separate categories of wash loads by placing the items into “weigh carts”.
• Move weigh carts to the wash deck and place on the scale to ensure that the proper load weight for each individual washing machine is maintained.
• Accurate record keeping of load weights and linen types.
• Monitor the chemical pumping station. Check for proper operation of the pumping stations, chemical leaks, and be aware when a chemical drum is low and will need change out.
• Load washing machines with linens making sure the correct wash weight for each machine is verified.
• Load and monitor the operation of the dryers.
• Un-load all machines when their cycles are ended.
• When all machines are in operation the primary Feed function for this position is the operation of the Jensen folder. This machine is used most often for the folding of athletic towels.
• Cleaning and general upkeep maintenance of the laundry department
• Assisting the Team Members from all other departments whom arrive in the department to pick up clean linens.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• The individual applying for this position must have one year of successful production type work experience (laundry preferred), or the equivalent.
• A high ability to communicate effectively with members and team members both in person and on the phone
