The Sr. Speechwriter and Content Creator will develop and edit content and speeches for Amazon Business leadership teams. Compelling, high-quality, engaging content is a key component of our strategy, and this role will be critical in developing it. The ideal candidate will be an experienced writer who possesses sound judgment and experience working with senior leaders. They work well in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments, and have proven experience managing competing priorities and working effectively across a number of internal stakeholders. They should also be able to demonstrate strong proficiency in gaining leadership alignment while crafting effective and engaging speeches, videos scripts, and presentations to be delivered by leadership for internal (employees) and external (customers, and analysts) audiences.
This role requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail. The right candidate will relish the: work closely with leadership, adapt to their individual voices, and deliver high-quality writing. They will also need to be able to work backwards from ambiguous requirements to generate clear, concise content. This role requires frequent engagement with Amazon Business leaders as they present to audiences worldwide, and will require a strong executive presence and discretion.
Key job responsibilities
The Executive Communications Leader For Amazon Business Will:
• Work closely with the Executive Leadership team and members of their teams to develop and communicate Amazon Business’ top stories and strategic messages
• Manage complex, fast-moving communications challenges with unflappable, high-judgment and polished professionalism
• Write and edit blogs, pitches, executive emails, social content, and communications plans
• Develop and strengthen relationships with business and technology influencers
• Define, develop, and oversee end-to-end communication strategy and plans that enable Amazon Business to define and elevate its brand with customers, partners, media, employees, and communities around the world
• Support the development and execution of communications for events and media engagements

Basic Qualifications
• 10+ years of recent C-Suite communications, public relations, external affairs, or investor relations experience
• 10+ years’ experience working in (or serving) a highly matrixed organization within a B2B environment, preferably for large, global companies in the technology, procurement, or professional services industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
• Master’s degree in related field is a plus

• Passionate about excellence in writing and verbal communications

• Strong judgment, a knack for diplomacy, and the confidence to engage and build consensus with team members at all levels

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
• Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
• Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
• Experience communicating results to senior leadership
• Bachelors degree or equivalent

• MBA
• 8+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $112,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $186,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
