The Sustainability Measurement & Abatement Technology team builds technical solutions to track, record, and forecast Amazon's WW impact on the Environment (i.e., Carbon, Water, Waste, etc.). This includes calculating past and current impacts and future abatement plans, ensuring credibility through standards and validations, and highlighting non-obvious opportunities for Amazon’s global business teams.
We are looking for a Senior Manager (Software Development) who will help drive the strategy and technical architecture for a complex project. This candidate will be a critical member of a new team within Worldwide Sustainability. In this role, you will work with program owners, product leaders, technical partners, both in sustainability and software, to develop and launch a new highly visible solution. You’ll work on solving problems of incredible scope that impact both Amazon and the planet.
Your ability to communicate and influence others will be a key to success. You are a results-oriented, customer-focused product manager who gets excited about starting from scratch, running hard, and delivering a big impact.

• Architect, design, and develop a new service that both gets us quickly to launch and supports a scalable longer-term vision to delight our customers
• Manage a high performing team
• Manage overall software development life-cycle
• Create, prioritize, communicate, manage, and execute roadmaps, project plans, and commitments
• Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management
• Foster culture of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics
• Hire, coach, and mentor individuals; build a strong cross-functional organization
• Own all operational metrics and support
• Bring innovative ideas to the table every day, in order to find better ways of accomplishing our customer objectives

Basic Qualifications
• 10+ years of engineering experience
• 5+ years of engineering team management experience
• 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in building scalable systems based on web services
• Experience partnering with product and program management teams
• Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $176,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $342,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
