Position Summary:
Assist with self-administration of medication and coordinate treatments to residents. Provide direct resident assistance with medication self-administration and assist with activities of daily living and encouraging independence and activity.
Essential Job Functions:
Approach all encounters with residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner
Monitor residents' well-being in a general way
Report any changes in the condition of a resident to supervisor immediately
Assist residents with simple requests as needed or find appropriate associate to assist
Look for opportunities to exceed resident expectations and enhance resident satisfaction
Observe residents for any changes in condition and report immediately
Document and reports changes of condition using forms for resident care documentation.
Provide medication set up and assistance
Log in medications from pharmacies, verify physician's orders and communicates any concerns immediately
Track all medications and re-order as needed
Perform the following tasks with residents: track vital signs, weight, diabetic testing and/or insulin injection (if state allowed), ambulation, and general activities
Follow all regulatory and Valeo Senior policies regarding the destruction of medications as identified by the physician, pharmacy, or Care Services Director
Assist in documenting and removing medications that are discontinued by the resident's physician
Be familiar with the meaning and usage of common medical abbreviations, symbols, and terms relative to the administration of medications
Work toward maintaining each resident's self-respect, personal dignity, and personal safety
Assist Resident Assistants as needed and whenever primary tasks are completed
Track supplies that are needed and communicate to Care Services Director
Support open and honest communication with and between all associates
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working
Look for ways to reduce costs and create efficiencies daily
Ensure regulatory compliance and report any issues or concerns immediately
Follow Valeo Senior policy and procedures
Comply with Valeo Senior standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient community operations
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or required

Requirements
Education/Experience/Training:
High school graduate. Nursing assistant course (State approved, if required). Must be 21 years of age (or meet state requirements). Must be knowledgeable of pertinent regulations with monitoring and licensing of the residence.
Special Requirements/Certifications:
Nursing Assistant Course (State approved, if required). Have a current First Aid and CPR certification. Have completed the required training, testing and/or certification (according to state) for assisting with medications
