Job Description
To ensure the function room is set according to guest expectation and Omni stan dards. This position will set up, breakdown, and clean all space associated with banquets and conventions. To conduct proper cleaning requests for internal and external parts of building structure.
Responsibilities
• Retrieve soiled linen and garbage from Guest Rooms and Room Attendants carts and/or storage closets to dispose of through the linen chute or dumpsters.
• Maintain hallways, reporting maintenance issues and special cleaning assignments (i.e. carpet cleaning or deep cleaning)
• Deliver guest amenities or special requests to guest rooms (i.e. rollaway beds, baby cribs, refrigerators, toothbrushes/toothpaste)
• Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly projects as assigned by Housekeeping Managers/Supervisors
• Clean stairwells, elevators and hallways free from debris and room service trays
• Maintain housekeeping supply storeroom by organizing new supplies upon delivery and restock of floors
• Perform CARE and utility projects as assigned
• Cleans vending machine area.
• Moves furniture and supply boxes as needed.
• Completes guest requests as needed.
• Vacuums carpet on a daily basis.
• Cleans walls, doors, baseboards and floors on a daily basis.
• Cleans all furniture, lamps, picture frames and mirrors are clean on a daily basis.
• Replaces any light bulbs in lighting fixtures as needed.
• Cleans garbage receptacles and/or ash urns on a daily basis.
• Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among co-workers. Treats co-workers fairly and equitably.
• Maintain a professional, neat and organized appearance according to Omni Boston Seaport standards.
• Respond swiftly and effectively in any emergency or safety situations. Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury or accident.
• Attend all required department trainings and meetings.
• Perform any other duties required by management.
• Cleans and stocks linen room / supply closets to appropriate par level
Qualifications
• Prior housekeeping experience required or other relevant environmental services experience.
• Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead and squatting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow associates and guests in person or via a cellular telephone/radio.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed during busy times and high-profile events, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities.
• Must possess the ability to handle stressful and busy hotel operations. Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure at all times.
• Must have the ability to report to work on time and when scheduled.
• Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
• Must meet standards of appearance and maintain a high level of personal hygiene at all time.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Computer literacy to include: Payroll systems
• Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
