We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team. The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for warehouse functions including shipping, receiving, picking inventory and wrapping/crating orders according to detailed order and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Help coordinate shipping and receiving areas and maintain a high attention to safety, quality, and productivity
• Organize orders and material pulls to sustain an efficient workflow
• Safely operate forklifts, side loaders and/or cranes (where applicable) to load and unload LTL and flatbed carriers
• Process incoming material including receiving POs, interbranch, vendor, customer returns, and damaged freight
• Interact with customers, sales, logistics, and supply services regarding materials and orders; answer questions and assist with service
• Maintain accurate inventory control and provide quality assurance by following required procedures
• Handle quality issues associated with orders and shipments
• Properly track and release material for backorders
• Observe required safety procedures, maintain employee, driver and customer safety and report any safety issues
• Order shipping and packing supplies including skids, strapping and labels
• Maintain equipment by following routine preventative maintenance requirements
• Call carriers to arrange order pickups and coordinate outside order processing (i.e., galvanizing)
• Promote, implement and maintain 5S standards
Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Forklift certification; side loader and overhead crane experience a plus
• Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of RF Scanners
• Experience with UPS Worldship and Fed Ex shipping programs
• Experience with ISO 9001:2008 and 5S Lean training a plus
• Familiar with safety procedures including OSHA, lock-out/tag-out and incident reporting
• Basic experience with power tools such as chop saw, banders and packaging machines
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and in a fast paced team environment
