He/She/They are responsible for all culinary management and execution within respectively assigned events.
This entails coordinating with multiple parties including our internal culinary team, internal and external staffing, rentals, florals, graphic artists, high-level event producers seamlessly.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Client intake:
Schedule phone calls with potential clients and appropriately handle all information gathering (know what to ask in order to create a proposal).
Menu/Proposal Creation:
Independently create menus from our internal catalogue of dishes.
Candidate MUST have an enthusiasm and understanding about food - food trends, food moods (if you're asked to create a Summer Alfresco Brunch - you understand what that means and how to create it).
Create Quotes & Ensuring Client is Invoiced:
You must be proficient in excel and understand 'formulas.
' Manager is responsible for ensuring all confirmations are invoiced (by accounting team) and following through to ensure payment is received.
Create & Execute Agreements:
Responsible for ensuring the agreement is created and executed by the client as soon as event is confirmed.
C & E Manager is responsible for ensuring credit card forms are completed and agreements are 'buttoned up.
' Managing final approved menus - Responsible for meeting with the chef and culinary team to guide regarding all details or special requests on final approved menus.
Responsible for ensuring menus are printed and in the kitchen on time.
Rental Management - The C & E Manager is solely responsible for managing all kitchen (satellite kitchen) and table top (dining) rentals for assigned events.
This includes scheduling site-walk throughs with our rental partners, creating a rental order, scheduling rental delivery, pickup, being on site (sometimes) for rental installations.
Design/Floral/Creative - Responsible for selecting and working with our floral partners (when event calls for this) to give creative direction and coordinate design elements from floral, rentals, graphic design (menus).
Staffing - responsible for staffing (between internal event staff) and 3rd party staffing companies so that each event responsible for are fully staffed.
Managing schedules and Event Timelines - responsible for creating internal timeline and schedules for staff.
Event Styling/ Platter Selection - C & E Manager is responsible for hand-selecting internal platters, serving boards for select events and coordinating w/ culinary team to ensure each event is well organized with respect to serve ware.
Food Styling - The C&E Manager has a natural 'hand' with food styling including grazing statins, stationary buffets, bar styling - general culinary styling.
Event Day - The C& E Manager must liaison with HC Event Captain to communicate all details.
The C&E Manager must be available on specific evenings and scheduled weekend days/nights to oversee the successful execution of assigned event.
Qualifications:
MUST have 3-5 years (min) experience directly managing events.
Bachelors degree level education preferred (but not mandatory if experience is high level) High proficiency with Microsoft office (power point, excel, word).
Self-starter that enjoys working independently.
Excellent written and oral communication skills Social Media Savviness Culinary familiarity - You must 'speak the language' of food.
