Woodfield Country is seeking an experienced Laundry Attendant. The Attendant tends to industrial laundering machines to clean articles such as table linens, tablecloths, towels, wiping, cloths, bags, sacks, and work clothes by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following ... • Loads articles into water and adds specified amount of detergent, soap or other cleaning agents. Turns valve to fill washer with water. Starts industrial washing machine that automatically washes and rinses articles.
• Lifts clean, wet articles from industrial washer and places them successively into industrial wringers and industrial driers for measured time cycles. Sorts dried articles according to identification number or type.
• Utilizes industrial press machine, presses articles as needed including table linens, tablecloths, etc.
• Folds and places item in appropriate storage bin. Lubricates machines.
• Based on experience, may dissolve soap granules in hot water and steam to make liquid soap. Mends torn articles. Sorts and counts articles to verify quantities on laundry lists.
• Based on experience, may soak contaminated articles in neutralizer solutions in vat to precondition articles for washing, and may mix dyes and bleaches according to formula.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Shifts available include Thursday through Tuesday; hours ranging from 2:30 pm - 12 am
• Prior experience in a country club or upscale health club, preferred
• Read, write and speak English, fluently
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from the ground
• Work in warm humid environments
• Be able to operate ironer, washer, dryer and steamer
• Remain standing and in motion for the full shift
