Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Banquet Server will be responsible for providing exceptional service to all guests, setting up and breaking down events, and serving food and beverages. The Banquet Server will work with other team members and supervisors to ensure that events run smoothly and efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES Other responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Set up tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, and other event equipment according to the event specifications
• Work and communicate effectively and efficiently with other team members
• Follow directions from Supervisors and other managers
• Serve all food and beverages in accordance with company provided Steps of Service
• Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a friendly and professional manner
• Breakdown events, including returning all tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware and other event equipment to the correct container and area
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, cleanliness, and guest service
• Performs other duties associated with the position that are reasonably assigned to support the overall needs of the business
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous experience as a banquet server, or related field preferred
• Excellent customer service skills, and a friendly outgoing personality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as tables, chairs, trays of food and beverages
• Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques and etiquette
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use their hands; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
