We are looking for both a FT and PT courier. There are full time hours available during the week and with availability for weekend work.
Requirements
• The candidate must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must have your own vehicle and proof of insurance
• Healthcare/ Hospital experience a plus but not required.
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time.
• Must have High School diploma or GED required.
• Familiarity with medical transportation preferred.
• Attention to detail
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time in a vehicle and make frequent stops
Main responsibilities include:
• Transport of biohazardous specimens including but not limited to blood, urine, stool, synovial fluid, etc., ensuring integrity while in transport to designated locations such as blood drawing stations, etc.
• Operates an automobile (your own) to deliver samples, results, correspondence, supplies, etc., as requested
• Picks up items from designated facilities for immediate same day delivery
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
• Excellent customer facing skills; you will be interacting with the client, and therefore, must be generally likeable, friendly and have a good attitude
Specifications:
• Principles and practices of safe motor vehicle operation and maintenance
• Traffic laws, ordinances, and rules involved in motor vehicle operation
• Must have reliable vehicle of your own
• Due to exposure to blood specimen samples, applicant MUST be Hepatitis B vaccinated
• Bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time
• Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements
• Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation mainly in an on-the-job training setting.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English language
• Shifts Available: MON- FRI 900 am – 6:00pm Saturdays 12:00pm-6:00 pm
