JOB TITLE: Banquet/Event Server
Summary ... The Banquet/Event Server is responsible for the equipment set up, clean up, and service of food and non-alcoholic beverages during events, banquets, etc.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 1+ years of customer service experience is highly recommended
• Must be a minimum age of 16, but 21+ is requested
• Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to perform all duties
• Available to work nights and weekends
• Ability to respond politely, accurately, and quickly to guests and fellow staff requests
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time
• Basset Certification (can be completed post-hire)
• CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred
Immediate Supervisor:
Banquet/Event Server will report directly to the Event Coordinator.
Essential Functions:
• Assist with complete setup and removal of all china, silverware, and other service equipment required for event.
• Properly handle, serve, and clear food and beverage items in accordance with sanitation standards.
• Prepare work areas such as coffee stations, bread stations, ice, water, and linens prior to beginning of event.
• Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Relay important information about orders, allergies, and special requests to the appropriate person.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and exceed customer service expectations.
• Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and awareness of sanitary practices.
• Respond urgently and appropriately to any concerns.
• Adhere to dress code and personal hygiene guidelines set forth by management.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested e.g., special guest requests.
• Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
Additional Functions:
• Assist with special projects as they relate to private events.
• May be exposed to all weather conditions if the event is held in an outdoor area. Some shifts end as late as midnight on weekends.
• Posses the ability to resolve differences fairly and with good judgement if necessary.
