Job Title: Forklift Operator
Type: Temp to Hire
Location: Skokie, IL
Pay: 1st shift $20-$25
• Based on experience
Shift: Monday-Friday
• 1st Shift 6:00am-6:00pm
• Some 8hr shift in there.
Overview
The Shipper/Receiver performs duties including unloading trucks, unpacking, and verifying items, handling customer pick-ups, maintaining inventories, and keeping storage areas clean and organized.
Job Duties
• Work safely and without injury.
• Packages outgoing orders in a manner that insures safe transportation.
• Verifies that orders have been picked correctly before shipment.
• Labels shipments for transportation and provides all required documentation.
• Able to use Oracle system and transfer materials between locations and produce packing lists on the computer.
• Operates parcel manifest system, complying with routing instructions on pick ticket.
• Handles outgoing materials. This task includes carrying, stacking, lifting, and loading cartons.
• Loads & unloads trailers using forklifts and pallet jacks. Restocks picking locations as instructed.
• Cleans shipping, receiving and warehouse area including sweeping, mopping & dusting.
• Assists in physical inventory.
• Perform daily forklift inspection.
• Correctly inspects, identifies & receives incoming material (raw & packaging).
• Contacts freight companies’ verification of product pick-up.
• Quarantine incoming materials for inspection.
• Use Oracle system to enter received materials.
• Maintain shipping/receiving log.
• Understand and perform to all quality regulations, standards, and policies, including but not limited to ISO 9001:2015 and AAR M-1003. Follow work procedures and ensure highest level of quality.
• Participates in team meetings as required (safety, problem solving, etc.).
• Problem-solves individually or as part of a group as job duties require.
• May be required to work overtime.
Work Environment
• Majority of the work time is spent in a manufacturing environment where temperatures are often warm or cool, depending upon the season, and noise level can be moderate to high.
• PPE required as determined by company safety standards: safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, safety shoe.
Qualification
• High School Diploma or GED
• Two or more years of manufacturing experience
• Forklift experience
• Experience with ERP system preferable
