for a top fortune 500 company based in North Chicago IL ... Title: CAD Technician (packaging)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• The Global packaging team is looking to hire a talented CAD technician to generate packaging specifications and CAD models for small sized packaging materials. Examples include cartons, shippers, bottles, caps, and other packaging materials. You will be responsible for meeting with engineers and other stakeholders to develop models and specifications for packaging materials. You may be required to work as part of a team or individually on a project.
• To ensure success as a CAD technician, you should have extensive working experience with CAD software, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work as part of a team. Experience in packaging design and specifications is desired.
• CAD Technician Responsibilities:
• Meeting with engineers and team members to review designs and drawings.
• Developing drawings and solid models according to design inputs.
• Outputting drawings / specifications for submission to change control team.
• Working with a design team and individually on CAD projects.
• Reviewing CAD models with engineers.
• This role may interact with a dimensional laboratory.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a CAD technician.
• Advanced knowledge of ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Adobe illustrator. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc
• Ability to read and translate technical drawings.
• Basic understanding of packaging design
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually on projects.
• A keen eye for detail.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Strong communication skills.
Additional experience with the following technologies is desired:
• 3D printing techniques/equipment/software
• Sepha Blistering machine
• Kongsberg cutting table
• CMM
• Instron Force tester
• Keyence vision systems
• OGP vision systems
Education / Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or design.
• CAD Certification.
